Domaine d’Essendiéras (Saint-Médard-d’Excideuil, Dordogne)

The Vibe: Endless Horizon & Rustic Luxury

Stretching across 350 hectares atop one of the highest points in the Dordogne, Domaine d’Essendiéras feels like your own private French village. Featuring two historical châteaux (one 16th-century, one 19th-century), converted reception barns, swimming pools, a 9-hole golf course, and on-site lodging for over 200 guests, it’s built for multi-day weekend takeovers.

On-Site Production & Technical Brief

  • For Couples: You can host your welcome dinner overlooking the rolling hills, say your vows under ancient trees, eat inside a glowing timber barn, and nurse your hangover by the pool the next day—all without leaving the property.
  • For Planners (Logistics & Sound): The sheer spatial scale of Essendiéras is your main operational challenge. Guests move across large distances (from the château lawns down to the courtyard and into the grand barn), meaning audio zones must be strictly managed so there are no silence “dead spots.”
    • The Solution: We run independent, battery-powered wireless sound systems for outdoor ceremonies and lawns, while setting up a heavy-duty, multi-subwoofer rig in the main barn. High-ceilinged converted timber barns absorb high frequencies but can trap low-mid bass frequencies; dedicated digital signal processing (DSP) keeps the low end clean so the music feels massive without rattling the rafters.

Entertainment Fit

  • Cocktail Hour: Folk-pop acoustic guitarists or a French gypsy jazz trio playing on the lawn under the shade of the trees.
  • Evening Party: A full 5-to-8 piece live showband for the early night, handing over to a high-energy DJ to push through until early morning.
